Title: Price Fandom: Harry Potter Pairing: Rose/Scorpius Rating: G for googley-eyed teenager, kinda. Words: ~700 A/N: So the Birthday Ficlets thing is where I write fics for prompts leading up to my birthday. This is the twelfth of (gulp) 42, this year (I'm totally behind, damn it), based on a prompt from drcjsnider, who said Rose/Scorpius, Gringotts. So, this was a pinch I picked up for HP Valensmut on LJ. What I meant to write was a cute little 2000-word pornlet, and then my brain decided no, it's okay if I'm too busy to pee most days, this would be a perfect time for a novella. I managed to shut it off at roughly 11,400 words despite its yammering to fill in a lot more, so fortunately the mods did not in fact run out of stuff to post before I managed to give them fic. They are very patient. 11,400 is too long for a single LJ post, so even though it would fit at DW, I just posted to AO3 (and applied minimal editing, although the standing rule about how it's okay to tell me if I wrote something that doesn't make sense and/or is a typo is still on), but you can comment wherever, yes? Title: Letter from the MinistryRecipient: tesharaRating: NC17 Word Count: 11,400 or so Warnings: none Summary: Harry, who on further consideration has decided not to participate so much in the Wizarding world for a while, has been called in by the Aurors office to have a look at a situation. There are islands, he can't breathe, Draco is surprisingly soothing, and between them, they turn out to be all right at math. Notes: Teshara asked for, among other things, fluff, mystery, happy endings, Hogwarts location, the bottom of the lake, and exploring, so. Title: Distraction Fandom: HP Pairing: Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny; this is gen between Harry and Ron, though. Rating: PG Words: ~1200. Teenyfic fail. Content note: reference to pregnant women sometimes doing odd things in the last weeks. A/N: So the Birthday Ficlets thing is where I write fics for prompts leading up to my birthday. This is the seventh of (gulp) 42, this year, based on a prompt from ct, which was Hermione, wikipedia. What I set out to write was Hermione being annoyed at Wikipedia. What I ended up writing was Ron being worried about Hermione being annoyed at Wikipedia. *hands* ( Distraction )As LJ says it has disabled the facebook crossposts to protected comments, LJ commenting is re-enabled. Here I am to ask for prompts for birthday ficlets. I want prompts that are for wee ficlets, seriously, NOT epics because my writing time is Teh Limited these days, but: I am turning 42 in a couple of months, so I would like to post 42 tiny fics in the 42 leading-up days. Would like to: I haven't ever actually fully succeeded in this in game, so I'll probably make it to like 30 or something. Still, that's more than zero. I'm asking now because in order to accomplish 42 days, I need to start on March 11, so I need some lead time. Fandoms I'll write in: If I have written in it before, it's fine. If I've ever asked for it for Yuletide, it's fine. If you're pretty sure I like this 'verse, it's fine. If it's a five-minute fandom, I'm probably up for it. The non-exhaustive list of things I've written includes: HP, Trek XI (and other Treks), an assload of fairy tales, various songs, Stargate Atlantis, Pixar properties, H50, some current USA original series. I would also write in Avengers (movieverse only), classic US and YA lit if I've read them, and anthropomorfic. Rules: 1. You give me a prompt that includes something like a fandom and character or pair (or, say original fic, I suppose) and a one-word/one-concept prompt. If you want to just leave the word and leave verse up to me, who am I to complain? 2. I write something from it in whatever way speaks to me. What I write will be somewhere between a true drabble (100 words) and a ficlet, with the intent of not going over 1000 words on any of them. Or I might write a limerick; this is a game whose rules are flexy like a flexy thing. 3. If it's critically important to you that there NOT be porn, please say so. Which is not to say I will always default to porn or anything, just that it's on the table unless otherwise specified. Else I'll write whatever feels right. Exclusions: I rarely do well with Death Eaters, Sirius Black, Romulans, Villains in general, Horror in general (either as source or as fic topic), or the kind of crack which is just piled-up ridiculous sentences. And if you're looking for Avengers, please to know that what I have for Clint and Natasha is fanon, the end. My willingness to write RPS is fickle and fidgety (I never know). Lyrics prompts don't work all that well for me. Fine Print:
I reserve the right to bend, fold, twist, spindle, crochet, and/or distress all prompts. And/or to combine them or use them twice, etc.Annnnnd go. If you can see this post and think you would like to prompt, you are invited and do not have to apologize for being an infrequent commenter or new or anything else. This one was for Happy Trekmas, for oparu, who asked for her OTP of Beverly Crusher/Kathryn Janeway. Because I was aware she also was a fan of another (current) Sci Fi series/character, I wrote her a crossover, because, you know, out of my mind. (this is also why I picked up a pinch in not only Yuletide, but also two other things last week -- Note: here is how you can tell Flora works in an environment in which she gets a chunk of much less intensive time in December than much of the year: my fic output in the last month or so, compared to the previous five, would basically be a pie chart made of December) Anyway. Title: Unique SkillsRecipient's name : oparu Rating: G (this is gen with a pairing) (Trek) Series: TNG/Voy, with an additional crossover character Pairing/Characters: Crusher/Janeway Word Count: 2800 or so Summary: They're bad at just going on picnics, anyway, so it's not all bad if a little adventure shows up, right? Warnings (if any): none Author's/artist's notes (if any): Oparu, I was going to just write the Crusher/Janeway you said you really wanted, but inexplicably I got to thinking about adding someone from another series I'm aware you are a fan of, which, I didn't ask so I hope it's okay. >.> Sometimes my brain does ridiculous things, man.
This is one of those pinches, for the H50 Holiday Swap, for tkeylasunset, who, I am pretty sure, I wrote for for trekmas or another Trek exchange last year. So, I knew she liked Trek anyway, and also she actually said that while she didn't expect any such thing, she would love a crossover. So this Hawaii 5-0 fic involving Spock. WHAT. We have already reviewed how I am out of my mind. Title: Local GuidesRecipient: tkeylasunset Pairing: Steve/Danny, ish, although there is no actual smut. Uh, implied reference to Kirk/McCoy. Word Count: 2775 Rating: eh, PG Warnings: none Summary: Spock (yes, that one) shows up needing 5-0's help keeping the timeline in order. A/N: So, my recipient said she'd like a crossover with the Trek Reboot movie, which naturally meant I couldn't stop thinking about how to make that happen, which meant that my energy went into that somewhat more than into the Steve/Danny aspect, and (based on the timing of the posting here, you can probably work out this is a pinch) I didn't have the time to also expand on the S/D. Alas. More notes at the end. Apologies for boring title. As LJ says it has disabled the facebook crossposts to protected comments, LJ commenting is re-enabled. That's pretty impressive. If you use S2 you may not be seeing it yet, but for giggles you should go somewhere like a kink meme that doesn't use custom comment pages and see, because--oh yeah--this will be happening to S2 pages soonish too. They promised. Here are my (un)favorite points so far: 1. no subject line because as we all know, no one uses them. 2. no drop-down to pick an icon; instead all the icon IMAGES load, and oh hey, they load in the order you uploaded them. 3. no preview option. also no spellcheck which given point 4 below seems really quite odd. 4. there are now buttons for inserting images and links, and while I know I am an html elitist and can't figure out why the hell anyone wouldn't just learn the maybe 10 very tiny things they need to just code their own shit, if I set that aside, the cheat boxes are NOT EVEN IMPLEMENTED RIGHT. To begin: the link one lets you provide a URL, but not text, and yes you can edit that by hand but WHY would you implement a cheat box without actually letting folks cheat on both relevant halves? I haven't tried the image one. Think I'm scared. FTR: Dreamwidth accounts are free for the next several days; if you miss that window but conclude LJ comments are now too rage-inducing, I have account codes. Come on in, water's fine. Crossposting is trivially easy and free for one other site (that is, you can crosspost to LJ OR somewhere else for free; multiple sites for nonfree). (full disclosure: crossposting still not available for comms) I really need to make a better copy of this icon, but I keep hoping I won't want to use it any more. It is an image of a Pepsi Max v-gift, the first of the sponsored ones rolled out shortly after LJ promised paid users would never have to see any ads on the site as long as they were logged in. This may be the worst terrible Saturday movie I have ever seen! This is impressive! Today it's "Snowpocalypse" in which there is apparently a cursed snowglobe which has fixed the town clock (IDK how this is relevant), made a giant crack through town, and caused an evil dark cloud to shoot iceballs at everyone (the iceballs are landing like bullets and/or cannonballs), including the whole town, some snowboarders, and a helicopter. I have no idea if this is a new one or just one I haven't seen before (I'm guessing the latter because there's a new one at nine), but I mean, it's only been half an hour, and that's just so far; I will be unsurprised if the mountains get up and do the rumba at some point as a means of appeasing the dark bulletcloud monster. Given the clock has been mentioned twice so far, I'm expecting they'll have to burn it down or something to improve the weather. (The new one at nine? THE EARTH HAS STOPPED SPINNING AND THEY ONLY HAVE HOURS TO RESTART IT!) As LJ says it has disabled the facebook crossposts to protected comments, LJ commenting is re-enabled. So, if you wrote something for/inspired by/at the behest of me and I am not responding, there's an EXTREMELY good chance I haven't seen it; I haven't had an honest to god whole day off in weeks and weeks, and work has been kicking my ass with some pointy-toed boots and the persistence of a particularly intractable ox since like July. Some days I get back to skip=100 or so in the evening, but often there exist posts to skip=385 or some damn thing, so I am certain I'm missing a lot. Anyway. I'm trying to go look at fests I am actually in periodically because I don't want to be the one causing someone to feel like SHE HATED IT when it's seriously, too busy to blink right now, but I shall catch up eventually and it doesn't mean I hated it and please do not fret if I do miss something. (Also, if you wrote something I should have responded to, poking is okay. ♥) As LJ says it has disabled the facebook crossposts to protected comments, LJ commenting is re-enabled. Last I looked, all these 'fandoms' had very very few offers, so hi, thanks for picking stuff I asked for, and even though I am about to make a lot of words, do not be afraid! ( Me! (this is pretty much lifted from last year) )Specific fandoms: (this is largely the same stuff that's in the actual prompts) ( Am I the Only One (Song) )( Royal Pains )( Reality TV Hosts RPF )( Newspaper Games Anthropomorfic ) In closing, ♥.
